John C. Little, 79, died of health complications on June 13, 2015 in Las Vegas NV.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia Sims Little, his children daughter Nina, son Phillip, and step daughters, Diane (William) Rapp, Judi (Michael) Abbate. Grandchildren Michael Abbate, Michele Abbate, Christina Cornell, great grandson, Steven Cornell, all of Las Vegas, Taelor Little of Texas and stepgrandson Peter Cornell (Marina) of New York. He is also survided by his siblings, David, Ronnie and Linda.
John was born on September 11, 1935 in Chattanooga, TN. He graduated from Cedartown High School, attended Georgia Tech and had management training while in the United States Air Force. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and retired in 1977. Upon his discharge he became the golf instructor at NAFB, Sunrise Vista Golf Club, with the exception of 5 years at the Las Vegas Country Club during the 80’s and returned to Nellis until his death this year. He received his PGA Instructions Certificates in 1995, he loved the game. John was professionally known for his expert golfing techniques a d advice and instructed many celebrities, politicians and professional people.
John was an all-around athlete who played in semi-pro baseball for the Pittsburg Pirates. He was deeply involved and competed in football, bowling and fishing tournaments.
John above all will be remembered mainly by his family and friends for his love for his country, his kind, loving, and gracious ways and who was loved by all.
