John Franklin Simpson Iii

October 28, 1965 — August 28, 2010

My son, Franklin Simpson III was born on October 28, 1965 in Carbondale, Illinois.  He was born premature but very vocal from the beginning.  Frankie entered college at the Alma Mater of his father and I, Southern Illinois University.  He moved to Las Vegas in 1965.  I love my son.

My brother was a District Representative for Congressman Bilbray from 1967-1994.  During this time, Frankie transferred to Washington, D.C. and was appointed to the House of Representatives Subcommittee.  After transferring back to Las Vegas, Frankie was appointed to the Weed and Seed Justice Department initiative and then transitioned to the City of Las Vegas, from which he retired in 2010.  I love my brother.

My Dad attended college at Southern Illinois University, John A. Logan College, and Community College of Southern Nevada.  He was also on the PTA at my school. I love my dad.

My nephew served in the military from 1986 -1996.  Frankie was assigned to the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Component.  He received many awards while in the military including “Honor Soldier”, “Expert Medal”, and “Desert Storm Support”.
I love my nephew.

My cousin was a member of the Young Democrats, and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.  I love my cousin.

My friend received Senatorial Recognition as a 2002 Black Pioneer of Nevada from the U.S. Senate  in Washington D.C. Congressman Bilbray recognized Frank for Outstanding Service.  I love my friend.

Throughout Franklin’s life , he possessed superior problem solving skills, a keen intellect and a resounding oratory ability.  Franklin Simpson III returned to our Heavenly Father on August 28, 2010  where he is resting peacefully.
