John A. Tolas

John A. Tolas, 83, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 3, 2011. He was born Oct. 16, 1928, to parents, Anna and Jacob, Fallon, where he was educated. He served his country in the 82nd Airborne. He worked as a truck driver in Ely before moving to Las Vegas in 1960. He worked for L T R Stage Lines and Frehner Trucking Inc. After retirement, he owned and operated Desert Pilot Car. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Christina Bass, Stephanie Lewis and Mary Kerrin. He leaves behind his wife, of 58 years, Arlene; son, John Jr. (Kris Ann); daughter, Debra (Gary); grandchildren, Evan Jake, Jared, Andrew and Tara; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, with services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
