John “Johnny/John The Man” H. Wagner, 74
Las Vegas resident John H. Wagner, 74, passed away on February 15, 2014, at his home in Las Vegas, NV
A United States Navy flag folding ceremony was held in his honor on February 20, 2014.
Mr. Wagner was born December. 14, 1939, in Denver, CO., to Jack and Opal Wagner.
He had a very strong work ethic and worked much of his life in the electrical industry. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1963 as a Motorboat Operator. In 1959 he met Gloria Starnes and they were married a short 6 months later. Their only daughter Carrie was born in 1962.
John worked many years for General Electric as an Estimator and Howard Electric as the Vice President and Chief Estimator.
His interests included classic cars, shooting, boating and fishing. He and his wife Gloria were regular “Bingo-ers” at Sam’s town and Boulder Station.
From Grandson Dallas: “Grandpa instilled in me at a very young age, a very strong work ethic. He was my inspiration to always work hard and try my best at everything. He is to thank for my success. I will always work hard to make him proud.”
He was preceded in death by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Gloria Wagner.
He is survived by: his daughter Carrie; Grandchildren Dallas and his wife Erin, and Dustin and his wife Karen, and 4 Great-grandchildren Amelia, Aurora, Amber and Dustin.
