Jose "Benny" Lucero

Jose "Benny" Lucero, 84, of Las Vegas, a retired cement mason of Local 797, passed away April 7, 2012. He was born Sept. 1, 1927, in El Gauche, N.M., and was a 68-year resident of Las Vegas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, of many years, Patsy; and his sons, Joey and Bennie Lucero. He is survived by his sons, Juan S. (Deborah) and David (Tonya) of Las Vegas; daughter-in-law, Gayla Lucas (Lucero); grandchildren, Teresa (Jorgensen), Michele, Justin, Jeremy, Brandon, Jered and Nathan; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Jayden. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., with the Rosary at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Burial Mass is at 11 a.m., Friday, April 13, at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Serving as pallbearers will be all his grandchildren and grandson-in-law, Damian Jorgensen. Flowers or Masses are welcomed
