JOSEPH DAUENHAUER Joseph F. Dauenhauer 88, of Las Vegas, passed away July 13, 2014, at home. He was born March 11, 1926, in Jersey City, N.J., and was the son of Joseph and Loretta Dauenhauer. He married Cherie Ronnow of Las Vegas Feb. 12, 1946. She preceded him in death Sept. 4, 2000. Joe graduated from Emerson High School in Union City, N.J. He then joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, graduating in 1944 from the U.S. Army Air Force Flexible Gunnery School at Tyndall Field, Panama City, Fla. He was a staff sergeant and a nose gunner, serving one year in World War II. He loved all sports especially baseball and bowling. He also loved to tell lots of long stories. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cherie; his son, Chuck; his parents; and one great- grandson. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Muntz of Oceanside, Calif.; daughter, Lyn Anderson (Ray) of Encinitas, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, with funeral services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
