Josephine “Josie” Meads

Our loved one, Josephine Meads of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully on May 2nd 2026 surrounded by family. She was 72 years old.

Josephine, born on February 1st, 1954 to Joe Allen Meads & Myrtle Meads in Fordyce, AR, brought joy and laughter to her mother & father. Josie went on to graduate from Rancho High School in 1972. After graduating from high school, Josie went on to pursue a distinguished career with the Flamingo Hilton, located on the Las Vegas Strip. As the heart of the hotel’s operations as the Front Desk Clerk, she worked her way up the ranks of seniority as the primary point-of-contact for guests and retired after 20 years of steadfast service. After a brief retirement and enjoying her designation as "MamaJo" by her granddaughter, Josie went on to reenter the workforce in 2005 and dedicated her time and efforts by serving as a CCSD Transportation Aide; working diligently alongside school bus drivers to ensure the safe and secure daily transit of students with disabilities, she retired after 20 years of dedicated service in 2025.

Josephine has joined her mother and father in peace & tranquility. She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Washington (Jeremy) and her beloved granddaughter, Brianna Meads; her brother and sister, Robert & Ebony Meads, respectively; and will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that span across the United States, far and wide.

Josie will be remembered by her family and friends as a fun-loving, generous, and a beautifully spirited woman who brought motivation to our lives. Her vibrant smile and contagious laughter will be missed by so many.
