Josie Lee Ellis

On Tuesday, June 21, 2022 Josie Ellis loving wife , mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the age of 86.

Josie was born on September 12, 1935 in Durant Mississippi to Alice and Joe Ellington.  On November 22, 1953 she married Franklin Ellis, spending the following 20 years as a military wife, raising her two children overseas in Guam, Germany, Japan and Okinawa. They made Las Vegas their home after arriving in June of 1972. She was active in the family business until retiring in June of 2000.

Josie loved gardening, particularly roses. She also loved spending time with her dogs. She was an accomplished southern cook, and loved being in the kitchen.

Josie is preceded in death by mother Alice and father Joe. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Franklin,  daughter Robin and son David; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 9 am, Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at Bunkers Eden Vale, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Graveside services to immediately follow at Memory Gardens, 7251 West Lone Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89129

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers please make a donation in Josie's name to The Alzheimer's Association.
