JOYANN LEVERENZ Our beloved mother, JoyAnn Leverenz (nee Goff), passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday, March 29, 2014. JoyAnn was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Detroit, to the late Harry D. and Oma F. Goff (nee Rossean). JoyAnn was a Las Vegas resident for 38 years. She worked at TV5/KVVU for 25 years. Throughout her travels in Europe and the United States, JoyAnn made many lifelong friends. Every year, JoyAnn looked forward to visiting her daughters' families in New York and in South Dakota. JoyAnn spent much time with her daughter's family in Las Vegas. JoyAnn was an incredible and independent person with a loving and giving personality. JoyAnn enjoyed holiday baking for family and friends, but most importantly was spending time with her family. JoyAnn is survived by daughter, Dee Ann; son-in-law, Dwight Kirk; grandchildren, George (Mindy), Jonathan (Becky), Jennifer (Leonard) and Sean; great-grandchildren, Stace, Megan, Nicole, Amber and Trinity; great-great-grandson, Steven; JoyAnn's daughter, Jolyn; son-in-law, Gerry Irwin; grandchildren, Carey (Ron) and Kelley (Paul); great-grandchildren, Joey, Julia, and Cameron; JoyAnn's daughter, Lee; son-in-law, John Curtis; grandchildren, Jason and Jamie (John); and great-grandchildren, Emme and Zoie. Community work was important to JoyAnn and she enjoyed working with the Goodwill Industries and volunteered with various local charitable organizations. JoyAnn was a member of the American Business Women's Association, Women in Communication and Order of the Eastern Star and served as an advisor to the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. JoyAnn was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Michigan State University football fan. There will be a memorial service for JoyAnn at noon Saturday, April 5, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. A celebration of JoyAnn's life will follow immediately after. In memory of JoyAnn, you may make a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
