Julie Hladek, 75, of Las Vegas, passed away quietly at her home Wednesday, June 28, 2012. She was born in Laramie, Wyo., and was a resident of Las Vegas since 1973. She graduated with a degree in education from the University of Wyoming and briefly taught school before starting her family. She worked for 30 years for First National Bank, First Interstate Bank and Wells Fargo Bank and retired in 2002. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother whose life was dedicated to the service of her family. She was an active member of the Los Prados Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many different positions and callings. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, where she recently served as secretary of the Millennium Heritage Camp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Frieda Nottage. Julie is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ann Hinote (Jim) of Las Vegas; son, Ed Hladek of Las Vegas; daughter, Emily Penrose (Sheldon) of Kennett Square, Pa.; son, Tony Hladek (Ashley) of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; 9 grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Lassiter and Jean Santiago; and her brother, Harry Nottage. Visitation will be 11-11:45 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, with services following, both at the Los Prados Ward, 5160 W. Lone Mountain Road. Burial will be at Bunkers Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
