Karen Louise Goodart Blanton Wade, 67, of Henderson, returned to her Heavenly Father July 19, 2011, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Karen was born in Evanston, Ill., to Vernon and Mary Goodart. At a very young age, her family moved to Pontiac, Ill., where she grew up. While in Pontiac, Karen gave birth to Angel Annette, who only lived a short time. She was the only child born to Karen. Karen packed up her GTO when she was 26 years old and spent the remaining 41 years here in Vegas. Karen worked many years in the court system, spending at least 16 of those years working with Judge Mosley. Karen loved horses, the outdoors, our cabin in Horse Valley and traveling. She visited Alaska, Hawaii, and 37 other states. She enjoyed camping in the fifth wheel, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and of course NASCAR (specifically Kasey Kahne). Karen will be greatly missed by family and everyone she ever met! Karen is survived by her husband, Shirl Wade; daughters, DeAnn, Carrie, Natalie (Monica), Brandee, Melissa, Cortney, Sherrel, Katelyn and Whitley; sons, James (Michelle), Michael (Dina) and Christopher; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews and every other friend she ever met. Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Angel Annette; former husband, Melvin R. Blanton; and her parents, Vernon and Mary Goodart. Memorial Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Bunker Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Karen's name to Susan G. Komen for the CURE.
