Karla Jean (Thompson) Sadler

January 28, 1949 — July 2, 2021

Our beautiful, beloved mother, Karla J. Thompson Sadler, 72, of North Las Vegas, drew her last breath Friday, July 2 nd , 2021. Her passing was due to complications from surgery to treat Peripheral Vascular Disease. She passed peacefully at Sunrise Hospital surrounded by love and with Michelle, Chris, Brooke, Kyle, and Shaun by her side. Karla was born January 28 th , 1949 to the late Charles and Lucille Thompson in Omaha, Nebraska.

Karla was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael A. Sadler in 2005. Karla and Michael were married on January 13 th , 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada and lived happily together for 37 years. They enjoyed spending time outdoors, spending time with their family, and traveling. Most of all, they treasured their time together. Their favorite trip was when they traveled to different parts of Mexico. Karla talked about that trip often and it filled her with happy memories of their time together.

Karla is survived by her daughter, Tracy Sadler Nelson, daughter Michelle Sadler Lantz and husband Chris, and daughter Carissa Sadler; grandchildren, Andrew and wife Vanessa, Brooke, Kyle, Shaun, Zachary, and Jaedyn; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Marcus; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Krelle, Linda McCormick, and Maxine Sadler; brother-in-law, Dwaine McCormick, along with many dear nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the medical and nursing staff at Sunrise Hospital for the compassionate care she received. We would like to especially thank her two CCU nurses, Josh and Paul, who were very caring, helpful, and honest; and to her doctor, Dr. J. Kiani for his superb care and tireless help he gave Karla over the years.

Karla will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Reunited by Jack Horne

She knew her life was through,

But wasn’t scared to die;

She closed her pain filmed eyes,

Her final breath a sigh.

Her husband took her hand,

And whispered, “Welcome, dear,

It’s been so very long –

We won’t be parted here.”
