Louis B. Smith "Pops", 97, a retired grocery worker, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 10, 2011. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Louis was born on Christmas Day, 1913. He was an old fashioned guy who got to witness a lot of changes during his life. He was an avid New York sports fan who loved to have a brew and hang out with the family. Those who knew him said he was always smiling and a pleasure to be around. He is already missed and proves that no matter how long they are with us, it never seems to be quite long enough. Louis was preceded in death by Viola, his wife of 40 years, who left us in September of 1990. He is survived by his only son, Donald (Carol); grandsons, Donald (Jennifer) Daryl (JoAnn), and Doug; great-grandchildren, Ciara, Donovan, Alyssa, Giana, and Christina. A private family memorial will be held in his honor.
