Louis Jerome Willging

July 25, 1952 — October 13, 2014

Louis "Lou" Jerome Willging, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 13, 2014, in the comfort of his home in Las Vegas, at the young age of 62. After battling cancer for almost seven years, the aggression rate of his sort eventually metastasized into most of his main organs. He was born July 25, 1952, in Bedford, Ohio, and moved to Las Vegas in 1978. He is survived by his mother and father, Jean and Louis C. Willging; sister, Anita Meier; son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Tracy, and their four children, Ashely, Jenna, Madison and Brooklyn; and his daughter, Kaetlyn Elise Willging. Lou was a district route sales manager for IBC Hostess Cake and Wonder Breads for almost 25 years. In addition to working and being a full-time father, his love of football directed him to offering his time to the youth of Pop Warner Football League. For over 25 years, he volunteered his personal time to coaching children ranging in ages six to 16 years old. He often referred to himself as a "bull in the china closet" even though he had a gentle, kind heart that would do anything for anyone. For those who would like to attend his service, it will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N., Las Vegas, NV 89101. A celebration of his life will follow after the service and directions will be provided. Please make any donations in Louis's name to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (702) 459-7778.
