Born and raised in Alangalang, Leyte, Philippines, Lourdes was one of nine children born to hardworking parents. Her father was a farmer, and her mother was a devoted homemaker who instilled in her children the values of faith, humility, and perseverance. At a young age, she moved to Manila to help support her family, demonstrating the selflessness, resilience, and determination that would define her life.

At the age of 25, she welcomed her first child with her husband, Alfredo, and soon became the proud and loving mother of four children: Rachel, Al, Ruth, and Mike. Being a mother was her greatest joy and life's purpose. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her children, always encouraging them and celebrating every accomplishment. She was so involved in their school activities that many of their friends lovingly began calling her "Nanay," the Filipino word for Mom.

In 1991, she immigrated to the United States to reunite with her children and begin a new chapter in Las Vegas. She worked in the Housekeeping Department at the Excalibur Hotel, often saying she loved her job because she was simply being paid to do what she had faithfully done for years as a homemaker—cleaning. Through her determination and strong work ethic, she fulfilled one of her lifelong dreams by purchasing rice farms in Alangalang and building a beautiful home that became a cherished gathering place for family and friends.

A woman of faith, she was a devoted Catholic whose love for God guided every aspect of her life. She faithfully attended Mass every Sunday in Las Vegas until walking became difficult. After retiring at the age of 62, she spent her remaining years traveling between Las Vegas and her beloved hometown of Alangalang. While in the Philippines, she attended Mass every day, finding peace and joy in worship and prayer. She generously helped provide for many of her relatives in the Philippines. Her generosity came from a heart that simply wanted others to have a better life.

Although family was always her greatest treasure, she also enjoyed traveling. She visited Hawaii, Israel, Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands, creating cherished memories along the way. One of the most meaningful moments of her life was attending the blessings at The Vatican celebrated by Pope Francis, which reflected the depth of her Catholic faith.

Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by the people she loved. She loved preparing delicious meals for her children and grandchildren, especially lumpia, suman and champorado, making sure no one ever left her home hungry. She delighted in spoiling her grandchildren with their favorite foods, especially sweets. Whether there was music playing or simply a reason to celebrate, she loved to dance. She treasured spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, and listening to others.

If you asked anyone who knew her what they remembered most, they would likely mention her radiant smile, her loud and contagious laughter, and the joy she carried wherever she went. She had an infectious smile that could brighten anyone's day and a laugh that filled every room. She chose happiness, remained positive through life's challenges, and possessed a gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her loving children, Rachel, Al, Ruth, and Mike; her nine beloved grandchildren, Grace, Matthew, Alexis, Brittany, Angela, Kyla, Miguel, Gabby, and Ellie; and her precious great-grandson, Baby Lucian. She is also survived by her sisters, Editha and Aida.

While we will miss her more than words can express, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the loving embrace of our Lord. We can almost hear her laughter echoing through Heaven and picture her smiling as she is welcomed home. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love will continue to guide us, her faith will inspire us, and her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
