Louise Porter Powell passed away peacefully November 17, 2017, at home, in Las Vegas, surrounded by family. Louise was born April 12, 1938, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Clifford Douglas Porter and Bertha Lee Hillman. She moved to Las Vegas in 1956 and was united in marriage to Billy Powell July 6, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death September 20, 2015. Louise began working as a bus driver with the Clark County School District in 1968 until she retired. She loved having "lunch with the ladies", cooking and shopping. She was is survived by her five children and spouses, Anthony (Pamela) Marshall, Rodney Marshall, Derwin Marshall, Tara Powell, and Traci Powell; four grandchildren and spouses, Ishia (Kipchogie) Brooks, DeAndre (Crystal) Marshall, Sr., Devin (Elisheba) Moore, Tarmisha (Darrington) Rivers, and nine great-grandchildren; Kipchogie Brooks II, Sabriya Brooks, Kye Brooks, Qayshaun Mills, QayVon Mills, DeAndre Marshall, Jr., Karisha Marshall, and Ihsaan Brooks. Louise was loved by her siblings and their spouses; Brenda Banks, Sharon Anderson (deceased), Kenneth (Norma) Porter, Gregory (Rose) Porter, Jefferon (Chandra), McDonald, Gary (Beverly) Smiley, Diane Walker, Almeta “Lynn” Porter (deceased), Charlotte Hodges, and Jennifer Parker; She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to name. Visitation will be at Bunkers Mortuary (LV BLVD), Saturday November 25, 2017 from 12-4 pm.
