Lucille Williams, 99, passed away April 2, 2013, after suffering a short illness. Lucille was born in Cloud Chief, Okla., Sept. 25, 1913, to Albert Sidney Buie and Lucy Ellen (Tharington) Buie. In 1936, she married Clifford Williams of Clinton, Okla. They were lucky to have been married for 50 years before Cliff passed away in 1988. No one ever doubted their love for one another. Lucille had a great capacity to enjoy simple things. She loved her family, gardening, traveling, and watching the Grand Slam tennis matches, NASCAR races and people in general. Her positive spirit, kindness, sense of humor and appreciation for all life had to offer never left her. She was always saying, "Wasn't that fun!" and "That's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!" Lucille and her husband, Cliff, were involved in the restaurant business throughout their lives together, beginning with Cliff's job as a chef at beautiful Mt. Baker Shuksan Lodge in Washington in the late 1930's. In the next decade, they owned a tiny bus stop cafe in Puyallup, Wash. In the early 1950's, they owned Ritner's Corner in Shelton, Wash. They relocated to Las Vegas in 1954, where they worked at many local hotels and casinos, the last being as owners of the Bar W Ranch Restaurant on Maryland Parkway, across from UNLV. Many people remarked that Lucille and Cliff were the most hard-working and dedicated couple that they knew, a work ethic that has extended to their four children. After retirement, they moved to a lovely home on the Virgin River in Virgin, Utah, where they lived until Cliff's death. Lucille soon moved to Las Vegas to be near her children and resided there until last Tuesday, April 2, when she passed away. Lucille is survived by her four children, Albert Williams and wife, Gisela, Peggy Hallerberg and husband, Lee, Patricia Schkade and Robert Williams. Lucille also left behind her beloved grandchildren, Russ Williams and Wendy Muir (Al's children), Troy Bostian and husband, Brian Toogood and Bonni Bostian (Peggy's children), Jennifer LeeJoice and husband, Rob and Ben (Patricia's children), and Max Williams and Charlotte Williams (Robert's children). She also leaves behind her dear great-grandsons, Clifford and Ryan Williams. Lucille is also survived by five siblings who were also her dearest friends, Robert "Bud" Buie of Allen, Texas, Imogene Crowell of Burlington, Wash., Peg Smith of Sunnyvale, Texas, Albert Buie of Harlingen, Texas, and Ed Buie of Arlington, Texas. Viewing will be 9-10 a.m., Friday, April 12, with services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Lucille will be interred beside her husband at Logandale Cemetery.
