Malcolm G. Clark, 80, passed away Dec. 24, 2016, of heart failure, at his home, in Las Vegas. He was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Daniel Brown Clark and Erma Leona Gudmundson Clark. Malcolm's family moved to Ely in 1943 to manage his father's livestock business. His early years were spent working for his father's sheep and cattle operation based at Success Summit, Nev. After graduating from White Pine High School in 1954, Malcolm attended Brigham Young University, where he met his wife, Jeanette Oxborrow. He received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University in 1958. Malcolm and Jeanette were married in 1959 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Malcolm began working as an accountant in Las Vegas for Conway, Moe and Hibbs in 1960, where he was made partner at age 27. The firm later merged with KMG Peat Marwick (now KPMG), where he worked as managing partner of the Las Vegas office. Following his retirement from KPMG in 1988, he managed the Union Pacific and Union Plaza Credit Union for 17 years. Malcolm served as state president of the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants in 1973. He was a member of Rotary International for 30 years. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Las Vegas Country Club. He was also an active member of the LDS church where he served in numerous capacities, including bishop. He loved the mountains, horses, sports and his family. He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Jeanette (nee Oxborrow) Clark; his son, Dennis H. Clark; his daughter, Chery Clark; his son, Craig D. Clark; his daughters, Tamara Clark Iverson, and her husband, Darin Iverson, Erlene Clark and her husband, Stephen Huffaker, and Allyson Clark and her husband, Eric Racusin; along with 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the LDS Church, 10550 Alta Drive, in Las Vegas. He will be buried in Lund, Nev. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Malcolm and Jeanette Clark Scholarship Fund.
