Margarita Cruz

November 29, 1935 — September 11, 2012

Margarita Camano Cruz, 76, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed from this Earth to a better place Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012. Margarita was born in Galveston, Texas, where she graduated from Ursuline Academy. Margarita was happily married to her beloved husband, Guillermo Cruz, for 57 years. She loved to travel with her co-pilot, Bill, always by her side. Margarita had a passion for many things, not the least of which was her family and her country. She held a special place in her heart for yellow roses, the state of Texas, and her love of "America's Team," the Dallas Cowboys. She retired from Clark County School District's Ed Von Tobel Middle School and was a parishioner at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in North Las Vegas. Margarita, "Lala," is now at rest with her Lord and has been reunited with her son, Guillermo Cruz Jr.; and parents, Rafael Camano and Maria De Jesus Hernandez Camano. She is survived by her beloved husband, Guillermo Cruz; sisters, Amelia Collins and Theresa C. Cromer, both of Galveston; three daughters, Genevieve Cruz-Ramirez, Margarita Dalley and Christina Cruz Sandoval; eight grandchildren, Christina Marie, Benjaman, Erica, Nicholas, Alicia K.R, Christopher, Nikko, Austin and Isabella; she also was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Haileigh, Jovani, Bradley, Aurora, Lilith and EvaMarie. Viewing will be 5-9 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 17, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas. Burial will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
