In Loving Memory of Maria del Refugio Gandara Flores
July 3, 1956 – April 5, 2025
With immense sorrow and deep love, we share the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Maria del Refugio Gandara Flores. She passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, surrounded by the people who loved her most. Maria was born on July 3, 1956, in Tecolotlán, Jalisco, Mexico. She made her home in Las Vegas with her devoted husband, Ramiro Flores, and their daughters Barbara, Cristina, and Victoria. She was also the proud and adoring grandmother of Isabella, who was truly the light of her life. For over 30 years, Maria worked at the California Hotel in the housekeeping department. She took great pride in her work. She was a fierce protector and a loyal friend, admired by many for her strength and kindness. Maria was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion. A proud Catholic, she held God close to her heart and found special joy in celebrating Easter and Mother’s Day. Her faith carried her through every chapter of life with grace and courage. To know Maria was to feel loved. She had a warmth that made people feel at home—whether you were family, a friend, or someone she had just met. She had a beautiful, contagious smile, curly hair that framed her face with softness, and a heart so big it embraced everyone around her. She loved cooking meals for her family (especially using her favorite pots and pans), shopping, collecting angels, and spending time with those she loved most. Her greatest joy was being with her family—her husband, daughters, and precious granddaughter. She was the kind of woman who made everything feel special just by being there. Maria is survived by her loving husband Ramiro, her daughters Barbara, Cristina, and Victoria, and her granddaughter Isabella. She is also survived by her sisters Ana and Rafa. She now joins her parents and siblings in eternal peace. Her love, strength, and beautiful soul will continue to live on through all the lives she touched. She was a dreamer, a fighter, a nurturer, and a source of unconditional love. So many are heartbroken by this loss—but even more are forever better for having known her.
We love you so much, and we will miss you every single day.
