Mary Helen Margaretis

Mary Helen Margaretis was born April 30,1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to Daniel and Elizabeth Troolines who were Greek and German immigrants. She was soft-spoken, health-conscious, hard-working, and a very loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the only daughter with four brothers. John, Nick, Leo, and Guss. They spent their early years in New York and then Detroit, Michigan where she graduated high school. She then went to a trade school where she received a certificate as a dress maker. Her career began at Crowley's in Detroit, Michigan where she met and married her first sweet heart John Margaretis on June 19, 1949. Together they had three boy's, Manny, Danny, and John Michael while in Detroit. They later moved to California in 1964 where they settled and built their roots.John and Mary ultimately moved to San Clemente for 35 years. Mary's last two years were spent in Las Vegas with John, Lucila, and their family. She passed away Christmas morning on 2011, which is also her mothers birthday. Services will be held at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church 4949 Alton Pkwy. Irvine, CA 92604 on January 6, 2012
