Mary Jane passed away from this life and began eternal life on February 13, 2018, at the age of 83.

Mary Jane was born on May 20, 1934 in Paragould, Arkansas.  The family moved to Kern County when she was a young teenager for job opportunities. She lived many places in California, but the longest in Bakersfield, which she considered her home.

In her later years, she moved to Henderson, NV to live close to her daughter Karla and in the final couple of months of her life, she lived with her daughter Karla and son-in-law Jim.

Mary Jane loved flowers, music and reading a good book.  Mary Jane spent most of her life in the restaurant business and was an amazing cook.  If you visited her for any length of time, she was making a meal, and everyone was always welcome to eat at her table.  She was a special, giving person and will also be remembered that way by many.

Mary Jane lived her life for her children Shannon M. Denton (deceased), F. Kevin Cronin (Joy) of Fresno, CA, Karla B. Sida (Jim) of Henderson, NV, J. Travis Homer (Chie) of Redondo Beach, CA and Tracey J. Lozano (Paul) of Bakersfield, CA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren.  Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.  All of Mary Jane’s siblings preceded her in death, however she leaves behind a cousin, Jenny Gunderson, who was more like a sister to her.

Mary Jane’s wishes were cremation and burial in Bakersfield, CA.  Graveside services will be at a later date at which time you may send flowers to Greenlawn Southwest if you wish, or a donation in her name to Nathan Adelson Hospice who graciously helped us with her care.
