MARY SIBIO Beloved mother, daughter and friend, Mary Alecia Sibio, passed away Aug. 12, 2015, with her son at her side, after a courageous battle with bile duct cancer. She was born Aug. 1, 1952, in Henderson. Alecia grew up in the Las Vegas valley and graduated from Valley High School. During high school, Alecia was a member of the popular singing and touring group The Las Vegas Ambassadors and remained close friends with many members of that group until the end of her life, even helping to organize reunions. Alecia had a 40-year career in the gaming industry, working as a casino dealer and as management for various resorts in Las Vegas and Mesquite, Atlantic City, N.J., Phoenix, Ariz., Delaware, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Alecia was crowned Ms. Senior Mesquite in 2013, and was first runner-up at the following Ms. Senior Nevada pageant. Alecia is survived by her three children, Aaron, Zachary and Sarah; by her mother and stepfather, Diana and Dennis Garmann; by her brother, Blake; and by her lifelong friend, Lanie.
