Mary Ann Newmiller, 73, a resident of Las Vegas for over 50 years, passed away Sept. 14, 2012. She was born Jan. 20, 1939, in Fairmont, Minn., to William and Agness Cordt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Newmiller, of 48 years, who passed in 2006. Mary Ann is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Raymond and Laurie Newmiller, M. Chris and Karen Newmiller and Richard and Teresa Newmiller; and her daughter, Sheila Newmiller. Mary Ann had five grandchildren, Shauna, Jewell, Kristy, Teresa and Evan; and five great-grandchildren, Trent, Jared, Dylan, Madison and Aria. Mary Ann's true joy in life was her family. She enjoyed being a mom, but loved being a grandma and great grandma. Holidays were her favorite times, where she created life long memories and traditions. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is also survived by her four brothers; George, William, Albert and Robert Cordt; along with her sister, Alice, all of Minnesota. Mary Ann had a love for animals and enjoyed her dogs and desert tortoises. Visitation/viewing will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Burial folloing at noon, at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., in Boulder City.
