Maxine Irene Stammer

Maxine Irene Stammer, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away March 2, 2017. She was born March 11, 1928, to Lawrence and Blanche (nee Stafford) Sheets, in Franklin, Neb. She was a 60-year resident of Las Vegas, and was the first woman to get a mail contract delivering mail to Caliente and towns in between. Maxine also ran a restaurant and worked the last 25 years until her retirement with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors authority Convention Center. She was a loving and caring mother, wife, sister and grandmother, who gave so much of her heart to everyone, there was nothing left for her and she will be missed very much. Maxine was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 44 years, Robert; sons, Kent and Gayle Herman; daughter, Maxine Kuemmerlin; parents, Lawrence and Blanche Sheets; brother, Gary Sheets; and sisters, Betty Tuxhorne and Donna Anderson. Maxine is survived by her children, Debra Decker, Kevin Kuemmerlin; stepchildren, Ken Stammer and Robin Burke; grandchildren, Nicole, Heather, Tiffani Perks and Jonathan Decker; great-grandchildren, T'Yonna and Tyrus Holiday, Alayna Bruner, Ace Perks, Azelea Fisher and Wess Kempfer; and sisters, Val Jean Hettich, Sheryl Preston, Linda Moore, Lisa Northouse and Melanie Bonanno. Viewing will be noon-12:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, with service following, both at Reedemer Lutheran Church, 1730 N. Pecos Road, Las Vegas, NV 89115. Burial following at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 89127.
