Melba Camp Hedstrom

January 25, 1930 — April 2, 2022

Melba Camp Hedstrom was 92 years old when the Lord called our Sweet Loving Mother home on April 2, 2022.

Born January 25, 1930 in Malad City, Idaho to Alvin Morse Camp and Margaret Pierce Camp. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Dale Hedstrom, daughter Paula Hedstrom & son Larry Dale Hedstrom. She was the youngest of 7. All her siblings have proceeded her in death. What a reunion they are having.

She is survived by daughters Susan L. Williams (St. Charles, Illinois) and Julie K. Damavandi (Henderson, Nevada) son Jeffrey D. Hedstrom (Las Vegas, Nevada), 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. She also has several nieces and nephews, who all loved their Aunt Melba!

Melba retired from the Clark County School District, as the supervisor of the Special Education transportation department. Some of her most memorable trips during her career were when several drivers would fly to Georgia to pick up brand new Blue Bird buses for the school district and drive them back to Vegas. She was loved dearly and highly respected by all her coworkers. They always said she wouldn't ask you to do something she wouldn't do herself.

She was an avid reader, reading 2 to 3 books a week. She spent her last few years reading, making daily phone calls and texting family and friends. She felt a responsibility to keep everyone abreast of what was going on. She loved being the first one to give you the family news.
