Merl Danford Kaaekuahiwi was born in Hawaii. A resident for 10 years, he was a golf course groundskeeper and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diana;two daughters, Cheryl Kaaekuahiwi-Pouono and Amy Kaaekuahiwi, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Merl Kaaekuahiwi of Las Vegas and James Kaaekuahiwi of Poahua, Hawaii;three brothers, Alan Kaaekuahiwi, Greogory Kaaekuahiwi and Jerome Kaaekuahiwi all of Hawaii; and eight grandchildren.
Burial will be in Hawaii
