Muriel Drabkin Gund, Esq., age 86, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at her home, both of her sons were with her in her final moments. Muriel was a longtime presence in the Las Vegas legal field since her admittance to the Nevada State Bar in 1965 (among the first 100 female attorneys in the state). She was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Hartford, Conn., but grew up in the nearby town of Norwich with her parents, Harry and Mildred, and her younger sisters, Naomi and Joan. Muriel's career entailed working in the contract department of the William Morris Agency, as well as for the Paul Winchell and Red Buttons television shows and for celebrity Danny Kaye as his personal secretary. Muriel then attended law school at New York University and graduated second in her class. After passing the New York State Bar, she took a vacation to Las Vegas and made it her new home. Muriel will be greatly missed by friends, family and colleagues. She is survived by her sons, Lawrence and Jeffrey Gund; and by her sister, Joan Chernizer.
