Ngon Yee Wong, 91, passed away April 14, 2016. She was born Dec. 27, 1924. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yen Gim Wong (1973); and her son-in-law, Gregory Paul Bahorski (2012). She is survived by daughter, Judy Bahorski; and sons Roy and Teddy, all of Las Vegas; brother, Jimmy (Lai) Mah of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; sister, Joyce (Wayne) Wong of New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada; and several nieces and nephews in San Francisco and Canada. Ngon and Yen were married in China. They came to the United States in 1948 after Yen completed his completed his service in the U.S. Army during World War II. They lived in San Francisco for a short time before moving to Pueblo, Colo. to start a Chinese-American restaurant with other family members. Ngon retired to Las Vegas in 1991 to be closer to her children. She loved gardening. Her green thumb produced a variety of Chinese vegetables and flowers. A great honor for Ngon was becoming a United States citizen. Viewing will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, with service following both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. Burial will be private.
