Nicholas Melim

Nicholas Alexander Kawelo Melim, age 36, of Laguna HIlls, California, unexpectedly passed away, October 14th, 2025, at his residence in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he resided for the majority of his life.

Nick, as he was fondly known, was a beloved figure in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. His unanticipated passing has left a remarkably large void among the family, friends, and many loved ones who greatly miss his presence and joyful energy every single day.

Nick is survived by his loving mother, Candace Tauaese, his brother Kanoa Tauaese, and his grandfather and grandmother, Richard Melim and Cynthia Melim. He also leaves behind his aunts, Carrie Melim, Karen Apana, and Rose Melim, as well as his uncles, Ricky Melim and Patrick Melim.

Nick’s nurturing, sincere, and genuine spirit had led him on the path to graduate from CSN in 2013 with an Associate’s Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. His life’s purpose was found in the care and rehabilitation of others. Nick’s compassion and commitment to his patients had earned him ATI Physical Therapy’s 2022 Employee of the Year Award.

Outside of his career, Nick found joy in sports, music, movies, and video games. He was an avid sports fanatic who fully supported the Las Vegas Golden Knights since their inaugural season. His love for Pokémon since 1998 reminded everyone of his love for nostalgia, and reflected his joyful, hopeful spirit he carried throughout his life.

Those who knew Nick will remember him for his larger than life presence, his infectious smile, and his gigantic hugs that embodied his generous heart. He had a gift to make those around him feel comfortable, safe, and warm.

The family will receive close relatives and friends at Bunker’s Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 West Lone Mountain Rd, Saturday, November 8th from 12:00pm - 12:30pm.

The family will also be hosting a Celebration of Life at PTs Pub on 8584 West Lake Mead Blvd, Saturday, November 8th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.
