Norman M. Schwab (aka Norman Leigh) born in Toronto, Ont. Canada and formerly of Ellenville and The Bronx, New York, a graduate of DeWitt Clinton High School. Beloved father of Mark, Greg (Adela) and Dean (Cheri) Schwab; grandfather of Jessica, Nicolas and Candice, sisters Ruth (Pete) Schnipper and Teddy (Danny) Davis; uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. While serving in the United States Marine Corps, he was stationed in Memphis, TN where he became very active with the USO as a singer and entertainer. Returning to New York in 1954, he began working on the athletic staff of the Nevele Country Club in the famous Catskill Mountains and soon became known as Mr. Simon Sez. During the 1980's his dream of becoming the M.C. became a reality and he started his new career as Master of Ceremonies and booking agent for the Nevele Country Club. Later in years, he also was the M.C. at the Homowack and Concord hotels. During the day events at the Nevele, he created many fun activities for the guests to enjoy. In 1998, Norman retired to Las Vegas, NV where he died on March 10th after a long illness with cancer at the age of 78. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Susan B. Komen Foundation.
