Pat Rubin, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully June 18, 2016, at her home. She was born Berniece Pearl Cooper Oct. 22, 1921, in Kansas City. She remained true to her heritage and supported Kansas City sports teams and always a cheerleader for Missouri. She is fondly remembered and cherished by many, primarily her two surviving children, Bill Wade and Susan Wade. Pat moved to Las Vegas in 1952 as a single mother with her two young children. She raised her family in Las Vegas and became a pinnacle within both business and social circles. She enjoyed working at the Sahara, the fabulous Flamingo and the Dunes, where she met her husband, Charles "Chuck" Bennett and subsequently her husband, John Rubin of the Stardust. Mid-life Patty changed careers from serving cocktails and managed a successful and lucrative real estate career. She was very active and philanthropic for many causes, most specifically Opportunity Village. Pat will long be remembered for her grace and perpetual dignity. Every day, she rose like clockwork and took on the challenges of her day with style and pizazz, not to mention a zest for life. Although "Patty" was barely 4'11", she was a giant in her heart and enthusiasm. Her late husbnad, John often referred to her as his "Swiss knife" of sorts in that whatever crossed her path, she adapted to. She enjoyed a full life of skiing, travelling all over the world, most specifically Switzerland (John's native land) and entertaining at her home with her adored husband. She loved music and dancing and any who had the pleasure of watching her dance can smile quietly now that she is dancing in Heaven. We will long remember her contagious laugh, her flawless, radiant skin glowing from her heartfelt smile. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Opportunity Village or the charity of your choice . The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Nathan Adelson Hospice Care for their support in her final days, as well as Atria Sunlake, her final home the past couple of years
