Phillip T. Dahn

January 1, 1942 — May 16, 2012

Phillip T. Dahn, 70, passed away at home May 16, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with heart disease and cancer, with his loving family at his side. He was born Jan. 1, 1942 in Buffalo, N.Y., and was a 32-year resident of Las Vegas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Deborah, of 34 years; son, David J. Dahn of Las Vegas; daughter, Deneen D. Dahn of New Orleans; stepchildren, Janine Linvell of Las Vegas, Kenneth Rossa of St. Louis, and Tammy Rossa of Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maymie Prischel; father, Richard Dahn; and brother, Allen "Tom" Dahn. He is also survived by his six wonderful grandchildren, Victoria Linvell, Hailee Rossa, Dalton Roberts, Steven Linvell, namesake Bradie Phillip Rossa, and Camden Rossa. Also missing him will be his closely-knit brothers, Richard (Angela), David "Red" (Marlene), and Danny "Bink", all of Buffalo; along with numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and all of his brother ironworkers. Phil "Red Iron" Dahn was an outspoken Union Ironworker member for more than 50 years. Beginning his career in Buffalo Local 6 and retiring from Los Angeles Local 433. He had a great passion for arguing on the side of right for the little guy and could not be out-debated by anyone because he always did his homework. The only people who could outsmart him were his grandchildren, because his love for them melted his heart. We will always remember him as a man who lived life his way! Viewing will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 25. Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 26, both at Bunker Eden Vale Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
