Ralph P. Luongo Sr., 69, of Las Vegas, and formerly of New York, passed away April 6, 2016. He was born June 6, 1946, in Utica, N.Y., where he lived until he left to serve in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Seabees MC BN III. His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him a Purple Heart. After returning from his service, he moved to Bellflower, Calif, where he went to work for Coca-Cola. He met his wife, Marjorie. They had two sons. Ralph moved to Las Vegas in 1972 and utilized the skills he learned in the Navy. He went to work for General Concrete and later retired after 27 years of service as a superintendent for M.S. Concrete. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ralph and Rose Luongo; and his beloved wife, of 39 years, Marjorie. He is survived by his stepmother, Jan Long; aunt, Josephine Sacheli; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and David Hathaway; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Roseanne Luongo; sons, John Luongo Sr. and Ralph P Luongo Jr (Brigitta); grandchildren, John Luongo Jr. and Vivienne Luongo; nephews, David Hathaway and Christopher and Jason Luongo; and niece, Karen Luongo. Ralph was a person who loved the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling were the things he loved to do, but above all was being with his family. He will be missed and loved.
