Richard Norrison Beatty, 71, a native Nevadan, was born Dec. 8, 1942, in Reno, and passed away Nov. 7, 2013, at his home in Las Vegas. The son of Robert N. Beatty and Clarethel Masterson, he graduated Las Vegas High School, 1962. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1962-1966 and fought in the Vietnam War. He attended UNLV Business School for two years. Began working at Credit Bureau Central as an offset press operator and became collection manager. He retired as CEO and co-owner in 2003. Richard was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed reading, vehicle restoration and spending time with his family. Richard is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Emily Beatty; daughter, Jody Beatty of Maui, Hawaii; son, Robert N. Beatty and his wife, Kelly, of Las Vegas; grandson, Chantz Beatty of Maui; and sister, Marsha Nicholas of Prescott, Ariz. Per Richard's wishes, no services are scheduled. His ashes are to be scattered at his favorite place, "The Seven Scared Pools" on the island of Maui. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Opportunity Village of Las Vegas.
