Richard Tyrell "Terry" Constantine, affectionately known as "Terry," 79, passed away very unexpectedly March 8, 2016, of natural causes. He was born April 30, 1936, in Aitkin, Minn., the eldest of five children. Terry leaves behind his wife, of 57 years, Patt. Together, they had four lovely daughters, Kellie (Jerry), Terrie (Tom), Ronella (Mark) and Janelle (Tim). He had 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life and fondly called him "Papa." He is survived by his brothers, Kenzie, Don, and Bob, one sister, Audrey, and their spouses; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. All will miss him terribly as he was the cornerstone of our family and everything revolved around him. Terry worked his way to Las Vegas in 1954 and made it his home. He began his career with the Clark County Fire Department in 1956 and worked as captain until his retirement in 1986 after 30 years of service. He was such a hardworking husband and always had a second job so Patt could stay home and to ensure his family's needs were met. He had a love of many recreational activities including the sand dunes, hunting, fishing, camping, car racing, traveling in their motorhome and all activities that involved his children and grandchildren. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to tell stories with a cold one in his hand. Terry's friendship was treasured by many and his humor will sorely be missed. He was a kind, generous and very knowledgeable person and his passing has created a huge void in our lives. Papa's hard working hands are finally at rest after enjoying a well-lived life. "May God keep you in his loving arms." Viewing will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, with services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd N., Las Vegas. Burial following at Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to acharity of your choice.
