CMSGT. ROBERT FARRELL U.S. Air Force, Retired Robert "Bob" K. Farrell, 83, passed away at his home in Las Vegas, Monday, Feb. 11, 2013. He was born and raised in New Jersey, where he loved to spend his days on the river and in the ocean. He enlisted and served two years in the U.S. Navy, and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He spent 28 years in the U.S. Air Force with a career in life support and hospital supply. In retirement, Bob volunteered his time at the Mike O'Callaghan Federal Medical Center. He met his wife, of 47 years, while stationed in San Antonio. They enjoyed many years living and traveling overseas with the military, retired in Utah, and finally settled in Las Vegas to be close to their granddaughter. Bob never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He loved life and thought age was merely a state of mind. He enjoyed ice skating, ice boating, skiing, rollerblading, bike riding, rock 'n' roll music and reading. He was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren and was always proud to be the loudest supporter at their many events. He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena; children, Robert and his wife, Amy, and Laura and her husband, Hal Okey; three grandchildren, Brianna, Christian and Luke. There will be a memorial service, with full military honors, at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
