Robert Lee Hittle, Sr. (83), passed away in Las Vegas NV May 8th of a broken heart. His beloved wife of 64 years Helen (Link) preceded him in death on February 22nd of this year and Bob never recovered from the devastating loss.
He is survived by his children Bob, Jr. (Cindi) and Tom (Mary Lou) of Columbus OH; Michael (Karen) of Veradale WA; Marilyn (Larry Cochran) and Roger (Linda) of Las Vegas NV; and Sarina (Jungi Aguilar) of Cimarron NM; by his thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.
Born September 28, 1929 to the late William and Leola (Rousculp); he is survived by siblings William of Lima OH, and JoEllen (Slee) of Los Angeles CA.
He was preceded in death by his brother Roger who died in the Korean War and by his grandson Rogie (Roger Hittle, III).
Bob graduated from Lima Shawnee High School in 1947 and attended Ohio State University. He managed the Charbert’s restaurants for decades before becoming a bus driver for the Worthington Ohio School District. He was an integral part of the Northern Columbus Little League, coaching the Renegades for many years. He was an avid sports fan and a logophile extraordinaire.
Upon his retirement, Bob and Helen lived in Cimarron NM for 10 years before moving to Las Vegas NV.
As per his wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be appreciated.
