Roger Baker, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 9, 2014, surrounded by friends and family. He was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Hamstead, England. His family came to Las Vegas in 1949. They obtained U.S. citizenship through the immigration process. After a brief career in banking, auto sales and leasing, in 1980, Roger purchased Ashley's Searay Boats. The business became Searay of Las Vegas in 1987. Roger retired in 2002 and sold Searay to Marine Max. After his retirement, Roger continued to live life to the fullest. He loved his collection of cars and enjoyed car racing. In the last several years, his true passion was horses. He is survived by his loving life partner, Diane Brandt; son, Michael (Caryne) Baker of Las Vegas; daughters, Lesli (Jeff) Moser of San Antonio and Lori (Rich) Aguirre of Windsor, Calif; son, Mark Baker of Las Vegas; sister, LaRaine Baker of Spanaway, Wash.; and grandchildren, Mitch and Madison Moser and Kylan and Brydan Aquirre.
