Ronnie E. Wheeler

Ronnie E. Wheeler, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 29, 2012. He was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Dallas, to J.T. and Hettie Wheeler. Ron was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved being with his friends and family, and was a very proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. If you couldn't find Ron in Nevada, you could bet he would be in Texas, Florida or Utah. Ron married his soulmate, Sandy, in 1996 and they did everything together. He had 30 years working at car dealerships and 18 years at the Nevada Test Site for Teamsters Local 631. Ron was a great parts-man and loved helping his neighbors in any way possible. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beautiful daughter, Karen Wheeler Rouzaud. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Wheeler; his four children, Michael Wheeler, Kelly Reser, Kathie Wheeler and Kristie Wheeler, all of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Mary Thomas (Erik) of Utah; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Wheeler (Rose) of Texas; sister, Beverly Wheeler Schmidt of Florida; and best friend, David George of Las Vegas. Ron was loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
