Sandra Lynn Stephens

Sandra Lynn Bailey Stephens, age 68, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on October 10, 2021 from complications of pancreatic cancer. Sandy was the second of four children born to John B Bailey and Bonnie Jeanne Bingham Bergerson in North Las Vegas, Nevada on January 9, 1953.

Sandy grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada graduating from Rancho High School in 1971. She met her husband Alfred Ellis Stephens in 1974 at off-road racing events. They were married on June 27, 1975 in Las Vegas where they resided until they moved to Henderson, Nevada in 1978 where they raised their two children: Melissa Tomola and Eric Stephens. Sandy joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in May of 1983 and held many callings in the church including Nursery Leader, Primary President, Young Women's Counselor, Family History Center Assistant and various other Primary and Homemaking/Enrichment callings. She was sealed to her family for time and all eternity in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple on January 23, 1999.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis, daughter, Melissa, son, Eric, and grandchildren Bailey and Elliott Tomola, all of Henderson, Nevada. She is also survived by her brothers Douglas (Pamela) Bailey of Las Vegas, Nevada, Steven Bailey of Henderson, Nevada, sister Cheryl (Allen) Dunkel of Eatonville, Washington, step-sister, Dawn Rybnikar of Wittman, Arizona, half-brother, Justin Bailey, of Wittman, Arizona, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-parents William Bergerson and Janet Bailey.

The funeral services for Sandy will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 400 S. Water Street, Henderson, Nevada, with a visitation at 9:00 AM and funeral beginning at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 10:40 AM at Veterans Memorial Park on 1650 Buchanan Boulevard, Boulder City, Nevada. Any flowers can be sent to the LDS Chapel on Water Street the morning of the funeral.
