Shirley J. Bayer, born October 1, 1936, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 88 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Shirley's early years were spent in San Diego, where she graduated from Grossmont High School. Her journey led her to a fulfilling career as an accomplished seamstress and later as a personal trainer at several gyms, including the renowned Globe Health Spa in Las Vegas. In addition to her work in health and fitness, Shirley skillfully managed the books for various businesses in the Las Vegas area, showcasing her versatility and commitment to excellence in all of her endeavors.
Shirley found strength and guidance in her Christian faith, which she expressed through her involvement and commitment to family and community.
Family was at the core of Shirley's life. She was married to her beloved husband, Clayton E. Bayer, for 63 years—a partnership that was a source of great joy and strength. One of Shirley's greatest joys was coaching her two youngest daughters' soccer team, an endeavor that allowed her to combine her love for family and community.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Clayton, her daughters Andrea, Toi (Steve), and Paula, her stepchildren Debbie and Dennis, her grandchildren, Jeffery, Tiana, Casey, Steven, Jennifer, Kendra, Clayton, and Christopher, her brothers, Roy and Coy and several great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother, Kenneth, her sister, Sallye, and her parents, John and Beryl.
Shirley’s family will honor her life in a private service, respecting her wishes for intimacy and reflection.
