SUE BUMGARNER "Sue" Hui Sun Bumgarner, 64, of Las Vegas, lost her battle with cancer and passed away May 24, 2017, surrounded by her family, at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. Born Feb. 25, 1953, in Daejon, South Korea, she immigrated to the United States in 1971 and was happily married to Ronald Bumgarner for 47 years. A hard-working homemaker, wonderful mother and loving grandmother she loved to cook for family, friends and neighbors. Some of her most popular dishes included spam fried rice, spicy pork, fried chicken and lasagna. But her most requested dish was her homemade kimchee. Everyone who had the chance to try it always said it was the best that they had eaten. After becoming a US Citizen in 1978, her passion was to demonstrate her love of this country by participating in every election she was eligible for. Whether in California, Texas, Hawaii, or Nevada, she looked forward to each day that she could make her voice count. She is survived by her husband, Ronald; her two sons, Wayne and Roy of Honolulu, Hawaii; three grandchildren, Payton, Kenzo and Koji; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; and brothers, Hui Man Pak and Hui Myoung Pak of South Korea. A celebration and remembrance of her life will be held in Honolulu in August.
