Taatofa was born in America Samoa. A longtime resident, he was financial administrator and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Toaiva; five daughters, Lloyda Tuinei of Tennessee, Ulvaipouomalo Tuinei of Samoa, Terina Sauvao,Agimoe Fiaseu and Matau Tuinei all of Las Vegas;three sons, Ulufanuasesee Tuinei of Las Vegas, Tastofa J. Tuinei Jr. and Repeka Tuinei both of Wisconsin; four brothers, John, Kenneth and Sialitu of Las Vegas, Tumau of California; two sisters, Vaovai Alo of California and Luaipou Fa'atali of Las Vegas.
Five Grandchildren.
