THOMAS BRANNON Thomas James Brannon, 66, of Las Vegas, passed away July 3, 2011. He was born May 10, 1945, in Dallas, and was an 18-year resident of Nevada. Thomas was a wonderful man who during his life worked as a police officer, a telecommunications engineer and owned his own fiber optic telecommunications company. He also worked on governmental contracts that he jokingly referred to as "building monkey cages." He was a member of the Shriner's and the NRA. Thomas liked to joke around and enjoyed spending time with his family. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Aleta Jo. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Leigh Fetting and her husband, Jay; his son, Thomas Eugene Brannon and his children, Thomas Aron and Shanna Leora; his mother-in-law, Retha Young Rodgers; his brothers, Gerald and Ronald Brannon and their families; and his cousin, Larry Collins and his family. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Visitation in Olney, Texas, 6-7 p.m. Friday, July 15. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, both at Lunn Funeral Home, 300 S. Avenue M, Olney, TX 76374, (940) 564-5533, with graveside services following. Donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
