HER LIFE’S JOURNEY
Valerie Veronica Vantina Lanier “Sister Soldier” was born on June 2, 1954 in Ocala, FL. She was the child of Prentiss S. and Annie L. Walker.
Valerie graduated from Western High School in 1972. She worked at The King 8 Hotel until her illness in 1978. Despite her physical ailments, Valerie was always loving and dedicated to her family.
Valerie gave her life to Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Greater Faith M.B. Church, under Pastor Jerry L. Page. She loved to read the Bible and her daily devotions.
Valerie leaves to cherish and continue her legacy: Loving companion Eddie Davis Sr, children Jacques Lanier, Ulysses Davis, Veronica Hill, Willis Davis, Eddie Davis Jr., Maurice Davis, 20 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, a loving mother Annie L. Walker. Siblings: Stephanie Elaine Jacobs, Louisa Brinson, Walter L. Lanier, Clarissa Lanier, Ulysses Lanier, and Jacquelyn (Ray) Brown. Host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special friends: Treadie Perkins, Vanessa Hamlin, Laura Jones, Mary Sattersfield, Deloris, and Clara Blackwell.
She was preceded in death by her father Prentiss S. Walker, brother Calvin A. Brinson, grandparents Adele Hudson, Walter Lee Lanier, nieces LaToi Lanier, and Yolanda Fletcher.
Valerie was faithful with her dialysis treatments with DaVita Las Vegas Dialysis Center until her time of passing. During her time with DaVita, she shared a bond and developed special friendships with many of the other patients whom also mourns her passing.
