Velma Dorothy Elliott Call, a homemaker, of Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 14, 2013. She was a resident of Nevada for 50 years. Velma was born March 25, 1923, in Terry Township, Pa. Velma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as the first sister missionary in Australia and later married the love of her life, Parley Pratt Call in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children. She spent her life in service to God, her family, friends, and in her church. She served for years in the Las Vegas LDS Temple and the Name Extraction Program. She enjoyed playing her favorite game, Skip-Bo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parley Pratt Call; and six siblings. She is survived by their four children, Margaret Morris (Joseph), Parley Jr. (Sandra), Barbara Wheeler (Thomas) and Kathleen Holland; stepson, Gregory Call (Shellie and four children); 11 grandchildren, Jason, David, Parley III, Aubrey, Michelle, Lisa, Aaron, Daniel, Robert, T.J. and McCall; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Grannis; and brother, Donald Elliott. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, followed by funeral services, both at the LDS Lorenzi Chapel, 221 Lorenzi St., Las Vegas, NV 89107.
