In loving memory of Verletta Barnes Rundquist, 80, a homemaker, of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 24, 2012. She fought the good fight, beating breast cancer, melanoma and pancreatic cancer, only to succumb to a stroke and then cardiac arrest after an elective surgery. She was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Evanston, Wyo., and was a 59-year resident of Nevada. She was married to Wendell Rundquist, June 24, 1950, and they were together until he passed in January 2011. Verletta is survived by her sister, Shirlene Brannon; and brother, Spenser Barnes, both of Las Vegas; her four children and spouses, Cecelia and Andy Zygmont of Las Vegas, Wendy Ramos of Gilbert, Ariz., Charles and Marlla Rundquist, and Gary and Robin Rundquist of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Viewing will be 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, with services following, both at the Bonanza Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4412 W. Bonanza Road, Las Vegas, NV 89107. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Tenaya/Lone Mountain.
