Nick grew up in Shamokin, Pa., and later in Camden, N.J. He earned an academic scholarship to Bishop Eustice Preparatory School, where he participated in cross country. He loved playing basketball after school and spending his summers at the New Jersey shore. He attended Villanova University earning a B.S. in mathematics. After college, he served his country in the U.S. Army, 1st Air Cavalry and was severely wounded in action in Vietnam. After attending UCLA and earning a master's degree in business, he embarked on his lifelong career in the home building industry. Nick's career began as a construction supervisor for Lewis Homes, then one of southern California's largest home builders. In 1975 when Lewis Homes opened a subsidiary operation in Las Vegas, he became their head land buyer. He worked for Lewis Homes for over 20 years, attaining the position of vice president and helped the company grow to be one of the dominant builders in Las Vegas. After leaving Lewis Homes, Nick went on to build homes in Las Vegas and Mesquite. He was proud that his homes were well built, well priced and that he always treated his employees and subcontractors fairly. Nick loved to travel with Noelle and two of his favorite places were Catalina Island and Lake Tahoe. Nick loved boating on Lake Mead with friends, weightlifting, skiing, watching sports and entertaining at home. He greatly enjoyed a good political debate. Nick was a devout Catholic and was very involved at St. Viator Catholic Community. He was a dedicated blood donor donating blood more than 90 times. His unique style, dedication to his family and Noelle, love of fun and generous soul will leave a space his loved ones will not be able to fill.
