He is survived by his children Luann Wilson, Christina Hood, and William Rainford Jr.; grandchildren Sydney Hood, Thomas Hood, and Sofia Rainford; his siblings Tom, Mike, Dan, Skip, Wayne and Teresa; and many more loving family and friends.
Bill was fan of his family and community. He grew up as a military kid and lived all over the world. He was the first Eagle Scout of troop 133 and shared his love of scouting with his kids and grandkids. He loved nature, fishing, camping and being in the mountains. He was a father cheering at every event and proud grandpa. He formed friendships cheering on coworkers or the person playing next to him. He loved the Olympics and cheered on every athlete in every event, and loved an underdog. He was generous and supported others through fundraising, or grabbing something they needed. He loved sports of every kind and could change channels between softball, basketball, and golf with lightning speed giving you all the details of each event. He was a life long fan of coin collecting and the Minnesota Vikings. After the passing of his wife he was finding his purpose. He loved the hunt of a yard sale and antiquing looking for vases and art. He enjoyed traveling and remembering their trips together. He had found a spiritual home at The Crossing Midtown.
